The toll charges that we are forced to pay

What is your opinion on the amount of toll that we are forced to pay to the concessionaires, especially here in the Klang Valley. Almost every other road that we take these days, there is a toll booth.

I can agree paying for using the new Highways/Expressways such as the NKVE, the Ampang Elavated Highway, the Putrajaya Highway etc, but why are we required to pay so much for an existing road that had been upgraded eg. the NPE, LDP.

Its even more sickening to note that we have been paying for the usage of the Federal Highway for 15 years now. With the millions of vehicles plying up and down from Klang to KL daily, haven't we not paid for the cost of upgrade and is the cost of maintenance of this Highway so high that it justifies the concessionaires to continue the collection of toll.

Ya..I live near the area and it doesnt make sense when they already built the road nicely and now after they finished the project, they just realize that the road not supposed to exist there as residents will cheats on the nearest toll fare. What kind of joke is that? What took they so long to study the area? It is better to not built it at all! Now the residents in Bandar Tun Hussien Onn, Bukit Anggerik and the surounding area suffering of bad traffic everyday. Some more, the Plaza Pheonix area are still under constructions since 1997. After dusts, migrants, social problems, traffic problems and now the toll issue..whats next?

It's more sickening that some existing roads are closed down and the folks are forced to use and pay for the toll. In my opinion, roads including highways, are basic infrastructure in nation development which should be free. Let us do some studies on highway on developed countries because i couldn't recall paying toll when i was using highways moving around Europe.
